As Hurricane Rita bears down on the Texas/Louisiana coast, pray for all of those involved. From the Presidental Prayer Team, here are the prayer requests from their email:
- Pray for the evacuees. Massive traffic jams have clogged highways outside Houston and Texas coastal cities.

Pray that the New Orleans levees will hold. The Army Corps of Engineers has feverishly worked to strengthen them but say even six inches of rain could flood the city.

Pray that the storm will weaken, causing minimal damage to the coast and populated areas.

Pray that the oil refineries in Rita’s path will not be damaged.

Pray for the leadership of President Bush, Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas and Kathleen Blanco, Governor of Louisiana.

Pray for members of the National Guard and Armed Forces as they work to minimize damage and prepare for emergency relief efforts.
