Using a Web Site for Church Growth
If you are any type of organization (and we are generally talking about a church or parachurch organization here), you should give serious consideration to how people enter your organization. What are your entry points? For a church, it might be the worship service, a children’s Sunday School, small group meetings in homes - what are they in your church or organization?
Many churches today consider their web site as a critical entry point for their church. One growing church in Colorado says that for almost 100% of their membership the entry point was their web site.
If that’s your interest, there are some very important questions you need to answer before designing that site. For example, what is the vision of your church? Your web site is in a very competitive space. Over 8 billion pages out there. How would someone searching for a spiritual community like your church find it on the web? Some people might search by geographic location, some by denomination. What is the real vision, though? In the early days of my church, over 50% of the members drove over 5 miles each Sunday to get there. To design this church web site, I needed to know that reason.
This is your starting point. Designing church and parachurch web sites is one of the things we do. Call us if you are interested. Or if you have a church web site and it isn’t working for you - we can make it work.
