God created you for a specific purpose (Eph. 1, Ps. 139). You are chosen for Him. God calls you to be a part of His creative purpose. All of life is an adventure, battle, and pursuit to discover what God is calling you to be and do and to live into this with a passion and excitement that is beyond our own imagination. The journey is the path to that discovery.

The journey as two components: the inward and the outward journey. The inward journey is that part of your spiritual pilgrimage that is in dialog with yourself, God, and others. It means living into a life of contemplation, meditation, and with a growing awareness of your heart and its relationship to God’s work in the world. We are searching for our passion, our spiritual gifts, and the style in which these are expressed. What is your personal vision, mission? What are your core values?

The outward journey, in contrast, is that part of your spiritual pilgrimage that is in dialog with the world. In this journey you are living into what you have discovered about your calling, uniqueness, mission and destiny and embracing the passion of this discovery. It is risky, but the greater risk is never discovering this.

All of life is a rhythm between these two journeys. First you turn inward to explore in solitude and prayer to hear what God is saying to you.

Another part of this discovery process in time with mentors and in small groups that are a part of your Church. Then you turn outward to risk that in the world. Look at the prophets and then Jesus to see how this rhythm played out in their lives.
