Strategic Resources Ministry is committed to a vision of seeing the Kingdom of God coming in the hearts of men, the community, the nation, and the world. We believe that God is working in the world today, and we are committed to using our gifts in whatever way we can to bring the Good News of Christ to those who are broken and to bring healing and deliverance in the Name of Christ to those who need it. We are called to help mobilize individuals and churches At the personal level, we've done extensive research on the relationship of prayer and healing. This is an on-going project. We've done two books. One, Catching the Wind: Finding Vision in a World of Chaos, is on finding vision and purpose in life. The second, In Pursuit of Healing: Breaking the Chains that Prevent Healing, deals more directly with our research into the relationship of prayer and healing. Much of this is in the process of being put on CDs for those that wish the message in that form. The books and CDs are available through the store on this site. The books are also available at Amazon.com. At the Church level, we've been researching what God is doing in Portland, other cities, and the world for over ten years. In the Portland area, we have authored an extensive book on the spiritual history of the city that is about 3 inches thick and 8 1/2" X 11" in size. The research was done with the support of many, many local spiritual leaders. The book is available as a research document for those serious about seeing the Holy Spirit coming to the Portland area. Because of the strategic nature of this book, it is not available in local libraries. If you wish to purchase a copy, contact us directly. The vision and strategy for this research is documented in a book Discovering Your City that Carl co-authored with Bob Waymire. This $15 book is available to anyone through the store on this site. As you can imagine, all of this takes financial resources. Although we worked for a decade using our own funding, these resources are gone and our ministry is dependent upon outside resources as it continues. There is a war going on, and very few Christians realize the nature and depth of this war. Do you know how many life-giving churches are in the Portland area? What is the church attendance in Portland? What unreached people groups are in the area? This is much like going into a war and not knowing how many soldiers you have, how well -trained they are, what the territory looks like, and where the enemy is located. In a secular war if you had a General that went into battle without this information you would court-martial him. Yet that is to a large extent exactly where the Church is in Portland and many other cities. The last update of this major research book was 1997. If you wish to contribute to the book update or to seeing a serious research center for the church in Portland (yes, other cities have these), you can donate through PayPal or contact us directly. Our goal is a starting faith mission goal of $3000/month with visions and strategies defined by local pastors and a few additional leaders who have a vision for seeing the transformation of the city, nation, and the world. | "Effective citywide evangelism is based first
on effective prayer and partnership. I would also suggest that good information
is needed to pray effectively and to develop strong cooperative efforts.
Let me ask you! How well do you know your city?" "When
we shared data from our research in San Jose with about 100 pastors,
responses ranged from 'Shocking' to 'I was crushed.' to 'I fell on my face
in prayer,' to 'I had no idea of the size of the mission field right
here.'" "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." "One
of the better ways to motivate Christians to effective evangelism
is to persuade them that growth is possible and to show them how the
Holy Spirit has caused it."
